The questions we get asked most often about tolerances, lead times, files, finishing and how quoting works.
One. We machine single prototypes from solid stock with no tooling requirement, and we run production batches into the tens of thousands. The process and the price change with volume, but there is no minimum we will refuse.
A standard RFQ with drawings and material specified is reviewed and answered by email. Tell us the deadline on a rush enquiry and we will say yes or no honestly. Every quote includes DFM feedback, not just a number.
STEP and IGES are ideal because they carry solid geometry. We also work from DWG, DXF, SolidWorks, Parasolid and PDF drawings. If all you have is a PDF with dimensions, send it — we can work from that for simple parts.
±0.05 mm is our routine dimensional hold across milling and turning, checked in-house on our optical measuring system. Where a drawing calls for tighter, feature-specific tolerances, we quote honestly against the actual print and plan the process around the feature.
Yes. Material certificates come with every production order, and an inspection report ships with the parts. First-article inspection with a ballooned drawing, SPC data and an inspection report is available on request for production work.
Often yes. Send us the sample and we can reverse-engineer it — measure the critical features, produce a drawing for your approval, then machine to that. It is a common route for replacement parts where the original documentation no longer exists.
We coordinate anodizing, plating, passivation, bead blasting, powder coating and heat treatment with audited partners, and we inspect after finishing rather than before. Important detail: coatings add thickness, so we plan the machining allowance around the finish you specify.
Prototypes typically ship 3–5 working days after drawing approval. Low-volume runs are 10–25 days and production runs 15–40 days depending on quantity and finishing. We ship by courier for small orders and by sea or air freight for production volumes, and we will quote both so you can choose.
Yes. We sign NDAs before receiving files when you want one, and we do not publish customer parts, drawings or company names without written permission. Files are held on access-controlled internal systems.
Yes, and we encourage it. Factory visits are arranged by appointment — contact us and we will set up a tour of the machining floor, the inspection area and a meeting with the team handling your parts.
