5-Axis Machining

Five-axis is not automatically better — it costs more per hour and it is the wrong answer for a flat plate with holes in it. Where it earns its rate is when a part would otherwise need three or more setups. Every additional clamping is a chance to lose positional accuracy and a chunk of handling time.

We run a 5-axis machining centre (U400A) for complex, multi-face geometry in one setup. On-machine probing is available, so a part can be measured, compensated and finished without leaving the fixture.

Thin Walls and Aluminium

The hard cases are thin-wall aluminium structures, where the tool pushes the wall away faster than it cuts it. Our approach is symmetric roughing to balance residual stress, reduced radial engagement with higher axial depth, and finish passes taken after the part has relaxed. On-machine probing between operations catches drift before it becomes scrap.
